BWS makes its own decisions about canceling classes, opening late or closing early due to snow or inclement weather conditions. BWS ONLY post messages when there is a change to the normal day. We strive to post message by 5 am on our school website, www.bishopwalkerschool.org, through the School Messenger service**, our Facebook page, our school phone (202.678.1515) and WTOP 103.5 FM.
BWS will strive to remain open once the school day has started. Should that become unwise or impossible, we will notify parents through a phone chain or by email. Parents must be sure that the School Office has their most current home, work, cell, and emergency numbers and email addresses.

School Messenger will enable us to quickly notify you about BWS closings, delayed openings, your child's attendance, special events, important news, etc. The system will enable us to contact you using your preferred communication vehicle, i.e., text message, email, cell phone or landline.
