Assessment

We closely monitor student learning and progress.  In the classroom, teachers use anecdotal notes and observations along with discipline-specific evaluations to assess students.  The Education Record Bureau’s (ERB) Children’s Progress Academic Assessment (CPAA) is administered to assess our kindergarten students.  A child-friendly formative assessment, the CPAA monitors student progress and provides diagnostic screenings.

Students in grades 1-6 take ERB’s Comprehensive Testing Program (CTP), a rigorous assessment that compares content-specific performance in several areas to more conceptual knowledge.

Both the CPAA and the CTP provide individual analyses as swell as national and independent school comparative stanines.

Grading

Students receive three progress reports/report cards three times during the school year. Students in grade 3 and above receive letter grades.
